Belt Weigher

A belt weigher is used to determine the mass of the material transported on a conveyor belt. The weight of the material transported is determined by weighing the belt load and measuring the belt speed.

The belt speed remains constant while the feed rate is regulated by varying the belt loading if required. Alternatively, the conveyor belt can be stopped after a pre-defined volume X has been transported (for example when batching at loading stations).

The length and material of the conveyor belt can differ to suit the customer’s requirements and properties of the transported material. Belt weighers are used in production and logistics, for measuring throughput and consumption in production plants, internal balancing of supply and discharge, load limit signaling, batching at loading stations or metering hopper control and legal-for-trade weighing. Schenck Process belt weighers are as accurate as required – +/- 0.25 percent.
